Esther Nwachukwu, Research Assistant
Esther Nwachukwu is a PhD student and graduate research assistant at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Her research interests include prison reform, cybercrime and the criminal justice system, and policing. Originally from Nigeria, she has worked on several impactful research projects in Nigeria, including studies on public perceptions of the police force, use of social media as a tool for protecting human rights, amongst others. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminology and Security Studies from the University of Jos, Nigeria. Prior to joining John Jay College, she worked as a researcher and teaching assistant at Nasarawa State University, Nigeria. She is currently working on the TRACE project which explores riots and escapes from prisons in the United State.
