Stephanie Spiegel, PhD, Project Director/Senior Research Associate

Stephanie Spiegel is a Senior Research Associate at The Corrections Lab at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. She brings over a decade of experience in applied research, evidence-based practice, and program implementation. She has provided technical assistance to correctional agencies at the federal, state, and local level, developed program curricula, and training for agencies. Since joining The Corrections Lab in 2023, Dr. Spiegel has co-led a multi-site, Bureau of Justice Assistance–funded study examining drug court outcomes, a National Institute of Corrections initiative analyzing policies and practices affecting transgender individuals in prison, and collaborated on the development of a 5-year strategic plan for the Turks and Caicos Islands. Outside of her work, she enjoys cooking, running, and spending time with her dog, Hamilton.
